Le Chaînon: The Largest Women’s Shelter in Montreal

As a local family business, we have made it our mission to deepen our presence in the Montreal community. To achieve this, we have partnered with Le Chaînon’s shelters and store to support their coffee needs. For us, this partnership is a way to indirectly lend a helping hand to women, keeping them warm while allowing Le Chaînon to allocate their budget to other urgent needs.

Founded in 1932, Le Chaînon serves approximately 50,000 meals per year with the help of 105 employees and 200 volunteers. Each meal costs only $0.38 and is provided free of charge to women thanks to various partnerships.

What is Le Chaînon?

Le Chaînon is a non-profit organization founded by Yvonne Maisonneuve. It was born out of her determination to serve a cause she believed to be just and important: helping women in difficulty. Once established, dedicated collaborators joined her as volunteers, forming a strong foundation. These urban missionaries laid the groundwork for Le Chaînon, which has grown into the largest women’s shelter in Quebec.

For 85 years, compassionate individuals have contributed to its growth and impact.
